New Uses for Old Things
Posted on August 9, 2010 · Leave a CommentEver used a cocktail shaker for more than just a cocktail? Probably not.
Well here’s an FYI for ya… you can use it for other things! And just like that, there’s other items sitting around your house that would be better off used for another purpose. So let’s just say you do have a cocktail shaker….
Did you know that you could use it to make an iced coffee drink? Add some milk, flavoring, ice and give it a shake! In seconds, you’ll have a delicious energy drink!
And what about a colander? You can use it to cover food during a picnic to keep the flies from it! That beats beating the flies away, right?
A large basket can do many things. If you’re having a cookout, line it with a plastic garbage bag and fill it up with ice to keep your beverages cold!
But let’s not stop here…. there are plenty of other items sitting around your house that can be used for other things! Realsimple.com has an entire list!

Silly Bandz for Sun Protection????
Posted on August 3, 2010 · Leave a CommentHow much skin protection can a “silly” Silly Bandz do for a person as far as protecting them from the sun?
More than you think.
Now there are UVSunSense Wristbands that can be used as sensors that will let you know when you’ve had too much sun exposure for the day. And no, it doesn’t talk.
So how does it work?
All you have to do is apply your sunscreen as normal, and also apply it to the wristband. As your outside adventures continue, the band will change color when it’s time for you to reapply sunscreen.
Pretty cool, huh?
The wristbands work on land as well as in water (pool, beach water, shower).
Purchase a pack of seven today from Amazon for $6.98!
And if you don’t have any Silly Bandz, you can just hang out by the shaded areas at Lake St. James Place Apartments!
